IIT-Madras chief hails ‘gaumutra’ for med value, draws flak

IIT-Madras director V Kamakoti’s remarks on the medicinal benefits of cow urine have generated controversy. At an event celebrating Tamil festival Maatu Pongal, Kamakoti claimed cow urine had anti-bacterial properties and could treat ailments. His comments drew criticism from groups like Dravidar Kazhagam, who argued there is no scientific evidence supporting such claims and criticized his lack of scientific temper.
