L2: Empuraan, starring Sukumaran and Mohanlal, has become one of the highest-grossing Malayalam films. It earned Rs 91.25 crore by its ninth day. Despite controversy, the film maintained strong theatre occupancy. It performed well in Malayalam regions and other languages. The movie is a sequel to the 2019 blockbuster Lucifer, continuing the story of Stephen Nedumpally.
