Folk singer Sharda Sinha, known as ‘Bihar Kokila’, has been posthumously awarded the Padma Vibhushan. Her son Anshuman Sinha called it a long-awaited honor, highlighting its significance for Bihar’s folk music scene. Sharda, famous for her ‘Chatth Pooja’ songs, passed away in 2024 and had earlier received the Padma Bhushan.
